FAQ
Do You See Children?
Yes! We do cleanings and exams on kids beginning at about age two, and fillings, if they need them, beginning at about age six.
When Do You Decide To Refer A Child To A Pediatric Dentist?
Some children are more apprehensive than others, so if they are nervous about a particular procedure, we never push it. We are much more concerned about “teaching” kids at this age to like going to the dentist, than to win the individual battle of accomplishing a cleaning or filling at our office.
Do You Offer Nitrous (Laughing Gas)?
Yes! Nitrous is very safe and effective for patients who are anxious about their dental appointment. It doesn’t put you to sleep or make you forget where you are but it does help you relax. There is a charge of $60 to cover the cost of the gas and equipment.
Do You Offer Bleaching?
Yes! We make custom bleach trays that you can use to whiten your teeth. You can also keep the trays indefinitely and use them once or twice a year to maintain a bright smile.
Why Don’t You Offer Light Or Laser Whitening?
Recent independent studies have shown that these only work if you use the custom trays for a couple of weeks afterward. In other words, your getting the same whitening effect with the trays only, but with the laser your spending an extra $300 and two hours of your time. There is also a much higher risk of tooth sensitivity with the laser or the light.
Do You Offer Senior Discounts?
YES, beginning at age 65.
Do You Offer Cash Discounts?
YES, but the discount does not include checks.
What Is Your Cancellation Policy?
First of all, let me brag that our patients do a great job of keeping their appointments or at least giving us plenty of notice for upcoming cancellations. This is one of the reasons our fees remain lower than our competitors. We require 24 hours notice on all cancellations with the understanding that emergencies do occur occasionally.
What If I Show Up Late For An Appointment?
If we can see you without causing our next appointment to run late, then we will happily do so. One thing that makes us different than most medical offices is that you will always be seen at or close to your appointment time. We don’t habitually run late, because we know that your time is just as valuable as ours. Please help us stay on time by being on time for your appointment.
Do You Take My Insurance?
See our web page titled Insurance Questions
What are my payment options?
We accept cash (with a discount) or checks and major credit cards, and we’ll gladly file your dental insurance for you with the understanding that you’ll be responsible for whatever they refuse to pay.
